The reporter, Lydia Polgreen, of the article, Both sides of conflict in Darfur strife findings in U.N. report, distinguishes exactly what the title of the article says. In the send-off of the article she talks about the entire incident that was mishap at the time with the government of Darfur. When the United Nations were taking action into the innocent they stated that the, violence in the region include atrocities, and crimes against humanity, it did non constitute genocide (Polgreen). She goes on, continuing on with admonition about how could the possible say that it was non a genocide when thousands of people dead, villages burned and woman and children raped and continue you not to call it a genocide. On the other hand though she does criticize both sides of the argument especially with the Sudanese government.

How was the government firing to say there was nothing going on when there unfeignedly was. It soon became clear what was really going on as soon as the world got involved and the stance in the case shifted once the enough details became public. The main conflict for this was that no one cherished to get involved in the situation and many were with the UN and not sure if the claims were exactly genocide.
