Alexander the great or to use his full statute title Alexander II of Macedonia was natural in the year 356BC in Pella and was the male child of the Macedonian king Phillip II and his wife capital of Washingtons. Later in his life Alexander claimed he was the son of the king of the gods known as Zeus or Ammon, because of this, stories nearly his procreation and birth were invented but even without these tales any whiz would have known that the boy was born for greatness.
Alexander was born into a Macedonia that had just been through a reform. Ancient authors frequently claim that Macedonia was a poor, backward country and that it was Phillip who brought it to civilisation. The Greek powers were also in decline; Sparta had lost Messenia, its economic base. Thebes was fighting in the 3rd sacred war which was draining its resources and Athens had founded a support empire but was struggling to overcome rebellious ally who were invoking Persian help. Overall it would have been more remarkable if Phillip had failed to throw a fit Macedonia.
