Sigmund Freud was born on May 6, 1856 in Freiberg, Moravia. At a young age he go to Vienna where he would spend most of his life. Here he was homeschooled for a short period of time.



Once he was enrolled in school he was first in his class, and went on to study medicine at the University of Vienna. (Romanian Association for Psychoanalysis Promotion, 2011) Through his knead with neurologist Jean-Martin Charcot, Freud became obsessed with violence, and started an experimental method of treatment. (Cherry) This was his start in the world of psychology. After he created the talking cure for hysteria patients, his range began to grow and he soon developed his ideas on dream interpretation, psychoanalysis, and the pleasure principle.
