Roaring Dragon Hotel (RDH) was whizz of the most famous and esteemed three- mastermind hotel in the gray part of china in 1960s and was considered as the land owned Enterprise (SOE).This case study analysis outlines the coup of RDH by the HI (Hotel International).
Background:-
In early 2000s the RDH General Manager Wen decides to re no.ate the hotel in to five- star hotel and signed the contract with the firm Hotel International(HI) for expanding its facilities.Wens decision, however proved fatal or not in the favor of the RDH.
Problems:-
The Problems been approach by the RDH is as follows:-
1. The Employees were not well trained as per the standard of the three star hotels.
2. Their marketing strategy was almost null.
3. The changed policy by HI of the changing the old perpetrate i.e Gaunxi practice
And changed its existing employees to the trained professionals which brings the communication gap between the HI and the Chinese government.
Opportunities:-
The following opportunities were observed for the improvement:-
1. Employees development by the proper training at proper intervals of time.
2. Scope of change magnitude the supervisor to have a better management and to add-on the productivity since the no.
of supervisor were very less as per the no. of employees.
Recommendations:-
When the General Manager Wen decided to upgrade the hotel in to Five Star Hotel, he changed his staff instead he should have trained the existing staff and should have increase their perks. Changing the staff was not the good option. They should have hire the Chinese manager since they followed the old practice of Gaunxi, they forgot the culture of the Chinese and made the changes by ignoring the biggest assets of successful business.
Conclusion :-
