How Cockroaches Succeed

Cockroaches be in a wide range of environments roughly the world, from the north to the south, and from the east to the west. Therefore, it is very common for us to hold them in different aras. As we all know, there are nearly 4,500 species of cockroach, of which about 30 species are associated with human habitations and about four species are well known as pests. However, why they are so successful? In the following paragraphs, I shall discuss the reasons of this matter in aspects of morphology, mode of nutrition, reproduction and evolution.

Morphology

Cockroaches are omnivorous animals, and the most favourite nutrition of cockroaches are starch and meat. In extreme cases, cockroaches can even eat newspapers, books and CDs. Cockroaches are among the hardiest insects on the planet. Some species are capable of remaining active for a month without food, and some even have been known to live up to three months without food and a month without water. The only food that cockroaches never eat is cucumber. Therefore, we can see that it approximately eat anything is organic. Also, what we can see as the variety of food that cockroaches eat is very high, so it is easy for them to find food when they feel hungry.
