I went with the inbuilt motion picture as instructed and scene for scene, jotted shoot down what was natural event as far as linearity and important fabrication arches go. Im not sure if Im suppose to recount every part that I wrote down in my notebook segmentation because that seems like over kill, so Ill only attempt to sum it up. In split up form and then transition into the essay portion.
At near the 8:06 mark, Franks voice i.e. the parallel naturalism involving Donnies either elaborate schizophrenia or legation to save the coming future by talking to a dead rabbit, begins. Frank tells him when the end of the world is going to be and Donnie evidently writes it on his arm. Then for about another 15 minutes, the film progresses in a linear format, running through key points in the story, i.e. setting the stage for Donnies dwelling life, recently be put on depression medication, descent with school and teachers, him going to a therapist/psychiatrist and the occurrent of local elderly enigma Roberta Sparrow. Around 24:23 Donnie has his first painfully realistic foreshadowing dream and blurb vision of Frank, the man in the bunny suit.



From these early facts, its clear to me that the stylization of format is that of reality and then a type of alternate or sub reality. Which I could also describe as hallucination except its directly effecting his actual reality, which leads me to deliberate that its more than simply nighthing happening in his mind. Unless of course were suppose to believe that Donnies projection of these intense dreams are manifesting themselves into realities because he has some sort of super power. Or because he was chosen specifically as some type of martyr for an omnipotent being (perhaps a God)s plan to shape-shift time and space.
