The officer fired four times into the mans chest which killed him instantly. One shot would have been sufficient enough for the man to drop the weapon since he was not intending to use it against the fallen officer. Now, the arriving officer did not chouse that the man was helping he still should not have shot off so many rounds into the man.



The officer could have just shot the man in the shoulder or somewhere else instead of in the chest as to suffering the man instead of killing him.
A clear warning should have been given to the man holding the gun. The officer should have said something along the lines of Drop the weapon or I will shoot. If a warning was given therefore the man that was helping would have put the gun down and then he would have been able to explain what was happening.
