Political Science [3/21/11] Since a Legislatures number one intent is re-election, there is usually Dual Pressures to satisfy both the voters and his/her party. Texas legislative System The House of Representatives - 150 Members look, this is a small amount of set for the size of TX, with each seat serving a 2 year term. The Senate - 31 Members, also small for TXs size and these position serve 4 year terms. * Both The Senate and The H.o.R. can serve an unlimited amount of terms. - The Legislature of Texas meets only 140 eld out of the year divided into 2 sessions, why? perhaps to keep them from passing laws, such as the increase or decrease of taxes. - The Legislature is not a full-time job, it is a citizen legislature, meaning that not any average Joe can encounter because those who run usually have some sort of unvaried income allowing them to take on the labor a legislature appendage would take, with little pay.
