Essay 4 The Protestant Reformation was a movement in which was the attempt to straighten out the Roman Catholic Church in Western Europe. Martin Luther was a devout Catholic and he had no intension to separate himself from the church. Luther postulateed the monarchy to remain the same as form of government. Unlike John Calvin, he wanted a social revolution where Christians were able to rule and authority. Luther worked in the quick political framework and Calvin to overpower the existing government. Between these deuce different men who have different intension to reform the Roman Catholic Church. Despite their differences, they twain have similarities as well. Luther and Calvin, both had complete different intensions and ideas to reform the church only if have similarities too. For starters, Luther and Calvin were both lawyers and profs. They based their teachings about the bible and both believed e actuallyone who knew how to read should be able to read the bible themselves. They both were against all the selling of indulgences. Believed that the church had no power to groom its members. Luther and Calvin have their similarities in religious beliefs but more often than not have their differences between reforming the church.

Calvin established in geneva, made the Geneva Academy that later became a university, teaching philosophy, Hebrew, Greek grammar, writings and logic . Luther had Lutheranism and Calvin had Calvinism. Lutheranism was Luthers 95 thesis and the calling for clergy to marry, praised religious doctrine music. Calvinism was the study of law and converted to protestant.
