There are arguments on many different levels for and against comprehension body as a way of achieving the believed outcomes of education. Research shows that those with disabilities desire the same educational outcomes as anyone else, they being: mastery, independence and generousness (Villa & Thompson p36). I believe the strongest argument to support the proponents of inclusion come from those who believe that everyone deserves to be treated the same and therefrom the right to the same education. Although, I totally agree with this ruling there are many factors that can make inclusion extremely embarrassing. One example is that critics believe full and partial inclusion approaches neglect to acknowledge the fact that most bookmans with monumental special needs require individualised instruction or highly controlled environments (Obrien 2001). This was something that I had experienced during my first practicum, where a student (considered special needs) due to her lack of attention span, constantly stop other class mates whilst making it extremely difficult for the teacher. Based on the readings, Inclusion appears to be not something that solely happens, but rather something that requires careful thought and preparation.
